‘The Merchant on Stage’ is a theatrical production performed in English by the students of class 3B liceo scientifico.
The work is a free adaptation from the most famous comedy ‘The Merchant of Venice’ by William Shakespeare.
The story revolves around the figure of old Shylock, a greedy Jewish moneylender who lends 3,000 ducats to Antonio and demands ‘a pound of his flesh’ if Antonio fails to pay him back.
Music and light effects are taken care of by the students.
Choreography and dances are performed by the students.

La storia ruota attorno alla figura del vecchio Shylock, un avido usurario che presta 3,000 ducati ad Antonio ed esige ‘un chilo della sua stessa carne’ se questi non restituisce il prestito per tempo.
